Who is each for
We tell you when Workiz is the right call. Most platform decisions come down to fit, not features.
Pick Workiz if you...
- •Run a locksmith, garage door, or junk hauling operation specifically, where on-demand phone work is the dominant motion
- •Want the best-in-category iOS field-tech app in the SMB segment, rated 4.8/5 on the App Store
- •Have a 14+ year track record of workflow that fits how Workiz models a job, and your team is trained on it
- •Need mature lead-gen marketplace integrations with Thumbtack, Angi, and Google Local Service Ads
- •Are comfortable with the 12-month commitment on Genius Answering AI ($200/mo) and Genius Phone ($100/mo) for $300/mo combined
Pick OptimizeIt if you...
- Run a service business in a trade outside the locksmith / garage door / junk hauling sweet spot, anywhere across the 49 vertical packs we ship
- Want native AI photo quoting and a 24/7 voice agent included in $239/mo Pro annual ($299 monthly), without a separate 12-month AI contract
- Prefer flat $25/mo extra seats over Workiz's per-user model in the $46 to $65 per user per month range
- Want a working Android app on the same modern stack as the iOS app, not a Google Play experience rated 2.8/5 across 422+ reviews
- Want published per-tier pricing on the site, not a "Request pricing" path that opens a sales conversation
Run both if...
Never. Workiz and OptimizeIt serve overlapping SMB field service buyers but with meaningfully different vertical fits. This is a head-to-head choice, not a stack.

How OptimizeIt is different from Workiz
Built by an operator, not a software founder
OptimizeIt was built by Lucas Cannon, who ran 5 Star Moving in El Cerrito, California for 15 years before founding the company. The product was shaped by his daily problem set as a service operator: customers calling at 7pm, photo-based quote requests that took 45 minutes to turn around, dispatch boards that had to be rebuilt every time a job ran long, and CRM software that was built for software buyers, not service operators.
Three principles came out of that experience that shape every product decision:
- 1.The AI has to actually do work, not just summarize work.Photo-to-quote means the customer's photos become a priced quote in under 60 seconds, with a deposit link, without a human typing a quote out. The 24/7 voice agent answers calls overnight and books the job. It does not just transcribe a voicemail and hand it back to the dispatcher in the morning.
- 2.Pricing has to be legible. The published price is the price. Extra seats are a flat $25/mo, so hiring does not trigger a tier bump. No 12-month commitment on the AI module that turns a monthly evaluation into a yearlong decision.
- 3.Trade packs ship configured, not configurable. When a locksmith signs up, their intake form, pricing rules, AI prompts, and reports are already calibrated for locksmith work. When a roofer signs up, the same is true for roofing. They do not spend 60 days configuring software before getting value out of it.

How is OptimizeIt's pricing different from Workiz's?+
OptimizeIt publishes plan pricing on annual billing (monthly available at +25%): Starter at $39/mo ($49 monthly), Core at $79/mo ($99 monthly), Plus at $159/mo ($199 monthly) with the phone system included, and Pro at $239/mo ($299 monthly) with the 24/7 AI Voice Agent included (6,000 AI credits + 300 voice min/mo). Tiers include 1/2/4/6 seats; extras are $25/mo flat. 14-day free trial on all paid plans. White-glove migration from Jobber and Housecall Pro included on paid plans. Side-by-side category comparison at optimizeit.ai/pricing. Workiz publishes Lite Free, Kickstart at $187/mo annual, Standard at $229/mo, and Pro at $270/mo on their pricing page, with extra users in the $46-$65/mo range and the Genius Answering AI plus Genius Phone bundle running $300/mo on a 12-month commitment. A 5-user shop on OptimizeIt Core is $79 + 3 × $25 = $154/mo annual (or $99 + 3 × $25 = $174/mo monthly) — Core includes 2 seats, 3 extras at $25/mo each. A 5-user shop on Workiz Standard annual is $229/mo before the AI bundle.
Is Workiz a better fit if I run a locksmith or garage door business?+
For pure locksmith, garage door, and junk hauling operations, the case for Workiz is real. The platform was built by locksmiths and the workflow assumptions match how those trades actually run. The 4.8/5 iOS app, the 4.4/5 G2 base across 218 reviews, and the mature Thumbtack, Angi, and Google Local Service Ads lead-gen integrations are concentrated value in those verticals. We would rather you pick Workiz for an on-demand locksmith operation than try to retrofit OptimizeIt to that motion before our locksmith pack hits feature parity.
What about Workiz's AI? Should I just add Genius Answering to my existing tools?+
Genius Answering is a legitimate AI Voice Agent product, particularly inside the locksmith and garage door call patterns Workiz knows best. The trade-off is structural: $200/mo plus a required $100/mo Genius Phone plan, $300/mo combined, on a 12-month commitment per Workiz's pricing page. OptimizeIt's voice agent ships in Pro at $239/mo annual ($299 monthly) with no separate phone plan and no 12-month lock-in. If month-to-month billing matters to your evaluation, OptimizeIt fits that pattern.
Can I migrate my data from Workiz to OptimizeIt?+
CSV export-to-import is supported for customers, jobs, recurring schedules, line items, and notes. White-glove migration assistance is included on paid plans for transitions from Jobber and Housecall Pro per our pricing page. For other source platforms, CSV-to-import is the default; contact sales for white-glove scoping. If you need a fully managed migration from Workiz today, OptimizeIt is probably not the right fit yet. Wait until white-glove support is live, or evaluate after we publish our migration guide.
How is the Android experience?+
Workiz's Android app is rated 2.8/5 across 422-plus reviews on Google Play, against an iOS rating of 4.8/5. Workiz has acknowledged the gap publicly and has work in flight. OptimizeIt ships iOS and Android on the same modern stack, so a mixed-phone crew gets a consistent field experience.
What's the contract commitment?+
OptimizeIt is month-to-month with no termination fee. Cancel anytime from your account settings. Workiz's base subscription is month-to-month, but the Genius Answering and Genius Phone add-ons carry a 12-month commitment per the pricing page. Review the order form for current terms before signing.
Who is OptimizeIt NOT a fit for?+
Three operator profiles we are honest about:
-
Locksmith, garage door, or junk hauling operations where Workiz workflow is already trained in. Workiz's 14-plus-year depth in those three trades is real. Switching costs money in retraining time we cannot make up for you in feature parity yet.
-
Operators who depend on Thumbtack, Angi, and Google Local Service Ads lead-gen integrations for the majority of inbound. Workiz's marketplace integrations are more mature than ours.
-
Operators who need on-site implementation support and a dedicated customer success manager. We do self-serve onboarding with chat and email support, not white-glove rollout.
If any of those describe you, Workiz or another platform may be the right call. We would rather you find that out on this page than after a free trial.
