How OptimizeIt is different from Housecall Pro
Built by an operator, not a software founder
OptimizeIt was built by Lucas Cannon, who ran 5 Star Moving in El Cerrito, California for 15 years before founding the company. The product was shaped by his daily problem set as a service operator: customers calling at 7pm, photo-based quote requests that took 45 minutes to turn around, dispatch boards that had to be rebuilt every time a job ran long, and CRM software that was built for software buyers, not service operators.
Three principles came out of that experience that shape every product decision:
- 1.The AI has to actually do work, not just summarize work.Photo-to-quote means the customer's photos become a priced quote in under 60 seconds, with a deposit link, without a human typing a quote out. The 24/7 voice agent answers calls overnight and books the job; it does not just transcribe a voicemail.
- 2.Pricing has to be legible. The published price is the price. No per-tech tax that compounds during hiring. No multi-year contract that locks in last year's product.
- 3.Trade packs ship configured, not configurable. When a roofing operator signs up, their intake form, pricing rules, AI prompts, and reports are already calibrated for roofing. They do not spend 60 days configuring software before getting value out of it.

How is OptimizeIt's pricing different from Housecall Pro's?+
OptimizeIt publishes plan pricing on annual billing (monthly available at +25%): Starter at $39/mo ($49 monthly), Core at $79/mo ($99 monthly), Plus at $159/mo ($199 monthly) with the phone system included, and Pro at $239/mo ($299 monthly) with the 24/7 AI Voice Agent included (6,000 AI credits + 300 voice min/mo). Tiers include 1/2/4/6 seats; extras are $25/mo flat. 14-day free trial on all paid plans. White-glove migration from Jobber and Housecall Pro included on paid plans. Side-by-side category comparison at optimizeit.ai/pricing. Housecall Pro publishes Basic at $59/mo, Essentials at $149/mo, and MAX at $299/mo on annual billing per housecallpro.com/pricing. MAX includes 8 users; each additional user is $35/mo. Monthly billing on HCP is 25-34% higher than the annual rates. CSR AI for 24/7 call answering and HCP Assist for live human answering are both listed as "contact for pricing" add-ons.
Can I migrate my data from Housecall Pro to OptimizeIt?+
CSV export-to-import is supported for customers, jobs, recurring schedules, line items, historical revenue, and notes. White-glove migration assistance is included on paid plans for transitions from Jobber and Housecall Pro per our pricing page. For other source platforms, CSV-to-import is the default; contact sales for white-glove scoping. For Housecall Pro → OptimizeIt, white-glove migration is included on paid plans. The migration team handles your data transfer, pricing rule setup, and crew onboarding.
What if I outgrow OptimizeIt?+
At $5M+ revenue, multi-location operations, or operations with significant Salesforce / NetSuite / Workday integration requirements, an enterprise platform may be worth evaluating. Housecall Pro's mid-market path and its parent investor relationships (Permira, Vista Credit Partners) make it a credible scale-up option in the same SMB segment. We will tell you when you are at that scale and help you transition cleanly.
How long is implementation?+
OptimizeIt onboarding is self-serve. Most operators are live within 48 hours of signing up. Housecall Pro onboarding is also relatively fast for the category and includes a strong consumer-facing payments setup via HCP Payments and Wisetack consumer financing, which is one of the reasons their Capterra reputation across 2,740 reviews is so strong.
What integrations do you support?+
QuickBooks Online, Stripe, Twilio, Google Calendar, Outlook, Slack, and a growing list of trade-specific integrations. Full list at optimizeit.ai/integrations. Housecall Pro's integration marketplace is more mature given its 11-year track record and 200K+ Pros ecosystem; if you need a specific consumer-facing integration like Wisetack financing embedded in a customer flow, check both lists before deciding.
What's the contract commitment?+
OptimizeIt is month-to-month with no termination fee and no annual premium. Cancel anytime from your account settings. Housecall Pro's headline pricing requires annual billing; monthly billing is available at a 25-34% premium per housecallpro.com/pricing. Review your specific order form for current terms before signing.
Who is OptimizeIt NOT a fit for?+
Three operator profiles we are honest about:
-
Operators who want to plug into the largest SMB home-service ecosystem on day one. Housecall Pro has 11 years of community, training, and Pro-to-Pro referrals built up. We are new. If that ecosystem is the reason you are buying, HCP is the right call.
-
Operators whose customer flow depends on embedded consumer financing being live this week. HCP Payments and Wisetack consumer financing are built in. Our payments and financing path is more modular.
-
Operators who need a fully managed white-glove migration off a current FSM tool. Our migration is self-serve CSV today. White-glove is roadmap for late 2026.
If any of those describe you, Housecall Pro is the right call. We would rather you find that out on this page than after a free trial.
