Who is each for
We tell you when FieldEdge is the right call. Most platform decisions come down to fit, not features.
Pick FieldEdge if you...
- β’Run an HVAC, plumbing, or electrical shop and need the 45-year-deep pricebook and service agreement tooling that took decades to build
- β’Are a Carrier dealer or sell Carrier equipment and want the Carrier Preferred Vendor partnership, which is unique to FieldEdge in this category
- β’Need live AHRI equipment data inside your proposals via Proposal Pro for accurate equipment matchups at the kitchen table
- β’Already run QuickBooks Desktop and need a mature, battle-tested integration that legacy operators still rely on
- β’Have the IT bandwidth for a 5-week minimum onboarding and a 60 to 180 day full implementation
- β’Are comfortable with a 12-month auto-renew contract and the quote-based pricing model that comes with a sales-led purchase
Pick OptimizeIt if you...
- Want a 2026-built, mobile-first product across 49 trade packs, not a platform whose architecture dates to the 1980s
- Want native AI photo-to-quote, a 24/7 voice agent, and an AI dispatcher included in the platform, not as third-party integrations
- Prefer transparent pricing published on the site, not a sales-led quote process
- Want to be live within 48 hours of signup instead of starting a 5-week implementation engagement
- Prefer month-to-month billing with self-serve cancellation rather than a 12-month auto-renew with a 60-day certified-letter cancellation window
- Want a single platform for moving, hauling, junk, cleaning, lawn, pest, pool, painting, pressure washing, and other adjacent trades alongside HVAC, plumbing, and electrical
Run both if...
Never. This is a direct competitive replacement scenario. FieldEdge and OptimizeIt serve overlapping HVAC, plumbing, and electrical workloads, so most operators choose one. If you are currently on FieldEdge and considering a switch, the migration question is the right one. If you are evaluating both for the first time, the era of software you want to commit to is the right question.

How OptimizeIt is different from FieldEdge
Built by an operator, not a software founder
OptimizeIt was built by Lucas Cannon, who ran 5 Star Moving in El Cerrito, California for 15 years before founding the company. The product was shaped by his daily problem set as a service operator: customers calling at 7pm, photo-based quote requests that took 45 minutes to turn around, dispatch boards that had to be rebuilt every time a job ran long, and CRM software that was built for software buyers rather than service operators.
Three principles came out of that experience that shape every product decision.
- 1.The AI has to actually do work, not just summarize work.Photo-to-quote means the customer's photos become a priced quote in under 60 seconds, with a deposit link, without a human typing a quote out. The 24/7 voice agent answers calls overnight and books the job; it does not just transcribe a voicemail.
- 2.Pricing has to be legible. The published price is the price. Extra seats are a flat $25/mo, so hiring does not trigger a tier bump. No 12-month contract that locks in last year's product. No mandatory setup fee that hides the real first-year cost.
- 3.Trade packs ship configured, not configurable. When an HVAC operator signs up, their intake form, pricing rules, AI prompts, and reports are already calibrated for HVAC. They do not spend 60 days configuring software before getting value out of it.

How is OptimizeIt's pricing different from FieldEdge's?+
OptimizeIt publishes plan pricing on optimizeit.ai/pricing. Annual billing is the default (monthly at +25%): Starter at $39/mo ($49 monthly), Core at $79/mo ($99 monthly), Plus at $159/mo ($199 monthly) with the phone system included, and Pro at $239/mo ($299 monthly) with the 24/7 AI voice agent included (6,000 AI credits + 300 voice min/mo). Tiers include 1/2/4/6 seats; extras are $25/mo flat. FieldEdge does not publish pricing publicly. Per HVAC Software Hub's pricing breakdown, real-world FieldEdge cost lands around $100 to $125 per user per month with a mandatory $500 to $2,000 one-time setup fee and a 12-month contract. Request a quote from FieldEdge directly for accurate numbers for your shop size.
Can I migrate my data from FieldEdge to OptimizeIt?+
CSV export-to-import is supported for customers, jobs, recurring service agreements, line items, historical revenue, and notes. White-glove migration assistance is included on paid plans for transitions from Jobber and Housecall Pro per our pricing page. For other source platforms, CSV-to-import is the default; contact sales for white-glove scoping. If you need a fully managed migration from FieldEdge today, including pricebook conversion and service agreement re-mapping, OptimizeIt is probably not the right fit yet. Wait until white-glove support ships, or evaluate after our migration guide is published.
What about FieldEdge's pricebook depth and Carrier partnership?+
Those are real strengths and we acknowledge them. FieldEdge has 45 years of HVAC pricebook depth, mature service agreement tooling, and a Carrier Preferred Vendor partnership that is unique to FieldEdge in this category. Proposal Pro pulls live AHRI equipment data into proposals at the kitchen table, which matters for Carrier dealers. If those capabilities are core to your sales motion, FieldEdge is the right call. OptimizeIt's trade packs cover HVAC, plumbing, and electrical with modern AI workflows, but they are not 45 years deep on equipment matchups.
How long is implementation?+
OptimizeIt onboarding is self-serve. Most operators are live within 48 hours of signing up. FieldEdge requires a 5-week minimum onboarding before subscription billing begins, with full implementation often running 60 to 180 days depending on pricebook and service agreement configuration depth.
What's the contract commitment?+
OptimizeIt is month-to-month with no termination fee. Cancel anytime from your account settings. FieldEdge contracts are 12-month with automatic annual renewal unless a certified cancellation letter is sent 60 days before contract end. Both are legitimate models. Annual contracts are the right trade for an operator committing to a 5-week implementation and a multi-year integration. Monthly is the right trade if you want to evaluate without a year of commitment in front of you.
Does FieldEdge have AI features in 2026?+
Not natively. As of mid-2026, FieldEdge does not ship an AI dispatcher, an AI Voice Agent or voice agent, or AI photo-quoting in its core product. Its automation is rule-based, including estimate reminders, renewal notices, and follow-up sequences. Third-party AI integrations exist. OptimizeIt's AI photo-to-quote, 24/7 voice agent, and AI dispatcher are core platform features included in the published tiers.
What integrations do you support?+
QuickBooks Online, Stripe, Twilio, Google Calendar, Outlook, Slack, and a growing list of trade-specific integrations. Full list at optimizeit.ai/integrations. If you need a mature QuickBooks Desktop integration, FieldEdge's is more battle-tested.
Who is OptimizeIt NOT a fit for?+
Three operator profiles we are honest about:
-
HVAC shops that are Carrier dealers and need the Carrier Preferred Vendor partnership. FieldEdge has it. We do not.
-
HVAC, plumbing, or electrical operators who need 45-year-deep pricebook and service agreement tooling. FieldEdge's depth there took decades to build. Our pricebook tooling is modern and trade-pack-tuned, but it is not 45 years deep.
-
Shops running QuickBooks Desktop as their primary accounting system. FieldEdge's QuickBooks Desktop integration is more mature. OptimizeIt is built around QuickBooks Online.
If any of those describe you, FieldEdge is the right call. We would rather you find that out on this page than after a free trial.
